Week 1: vs Shamrock @ Lockney

Well, we didn't get a post done at the end of the first week, so this is a "catch up" post!  As you heard announced after the halftime show in Lockney this past Friday, our Section of the Week was our saxophone section...what an amazing group of students!  They are a prime example of the effort what it takes to perform at a high level.  Also announced was our "Pumpjack Award" winner, Riley Driver, who is actually a brand new member of the Roughneck Band this year!  Riley is a senior who has made an immediate positive impact on our band...he is always striving to be the very best he can be and is someone who anyone would want on their team.  And one more...our Rookie of the Week is Kale Strickland!  Kale is an 8th grader in the Roughneck Band and is a super hard worker, already covering some "1st parts" in the stands at games.  Kale comes to every rehearsal with a great attitude!

Congratulations to Riley, Kale, and the saxophone section!

SHOUT OUTS
The shout out for this week goes to our drivers...Rene Rivera, Kayla Belew, Lacy McAdams, and Hunter Stanley.  We are about to travel many miles for the next football game, and these dedicated individuals don't bat an eye.  Our show doesn't go "on the road" without these wonderful people!   

GAME DAY INFO
This week has us traveling to Dalhart to rough up the Wolves!  Kickoff is at 7:00 pm on Friday.  Other information has been sent to each band student's school email account.
